My Prayer

Dear Lord, Good and Gracious God, Great and Mighty Creator,

With awe and admiration, I come to You in prayer.

Your creation I behold, all it's vastness and beauty;

And I must humbly marvel, it impresses me truly.

All of it's impressiveness, is a testimony to

All Your greatness and glory, the magnificience of You.

Through Your perfect creation, for all our needs You provide;

And for all that I'm given, my thankfulness I confide.

I am even more thankful, Your creation You do fill,

With Your immense, perfect Love that into it You instill.

Your perfect, comforting Love, which You simply ask returned;

Love You also let us share, Your blessing, not one we've earned.

I know how much I've been blessed, all the Love that's shown to me;

Indeed, I am humbled, Lord, I thank You so gratefully.

I know we often fall short, being what You did create;

And our shortcomings result in pain, sorrow, hurt and hate.

I pray for those who suffer, whatever cause of their pain;

Please comfort their hurt and grief, and help them find peace again.

Show me ways that I might help, make me my brothers' keeper,

Also a sewer of good, so good I'll be a reaper.

Lord, please protect those I love, comfort them with Your great care;

Help them feel my love for them, whether or not I am there.

Whatever my place in life, here in this world that I earn;

Eternity with You, Lord is most truly what I yearn.

Help me to see Your great hand, as my steps You try to guide,

And help me be the person, to stay always at Your side.
